Details: Unless these contacts are different than the blind-eye one I've used, you literally are blind with them. Even if these have a some mesh where you can see a little bit, you're not going to be seeing well at all and you'd probably still be considered 'legally blind.' Use them only in a safe, controlled environment! If you're using only one lens, I recommend using it in your non-dominant eye or you may find yourself with a splitting headache. (Guess how I figured that out?) If you don't know which eye is dominant: With both eyes open, point at something in the distance. Then close one eye at a time while continuing to point and without moving your finger. Your dominant eye is the one in which your finger is closest to where you were pointing. (When you CLOSE your dominant eye, your finger will be way off the target.) |

Details: If you have seen or worn colored contacts before, you will know that all of them are clear in the middle where they lay over your pupil in order for you to see thru them. If you look at all the novelty contact lenses, they are all black in the center (which is in reality actually clear in the center, but your pupil reads as black). Even the "Black Sclera" lenses have a clear center in the middle even though they appear to be completely black. So in order for these "white out" lenses to work, they need to cover the pupil with opaque white and thus you cannot see thru them. |
